Mordbear High Water Mark Portland Doom Show

~ Press ~

MORDBEAR’s debut self-titled EP is easily comparable to the likes of Black Sabbath, SLEEP, OM and Acrimony. There’s a subdued atmosphere that first appears within the opening track Like The Dead with MORDBEAR supremely becoming confident with each passing moment. The sound is quite melodic and brings a classic 1990’s Stoner Rock/Metal sound into the slight Proto-Doom attitude that also appears within MORDBEAR’s delivery.
Outlaws of the Sun

A fascinating debut three-song EP from Portland, Oregon’s Mordbear, released by Dipterid Records as a single-sided 12″ vinyl, comic book included. The Obelisk

This debut EP successfully revives the spirit of Acid proto-Doom and early ’70s Heavy Psychedelia within a modern touch. The band weaves together hypnotic Acid passages and fuzz-drenched heaviness into a convincing and cohesive work…. a promising debut that hints at a strong creative direction, leaving us eager for a full-length release. Highly recommended for fans of acid-tinged, lysergic heaviness rooted in the origins of proto-Metal and Doom.
